Whilst all efforts are made to ensure accuracy of description, specifications and pricing there may be occasions where errors arise. Should such a situation occur we reserve the right to decline your order. In the event of a mistake you will be contacted with a full explanation and a corrected offer. Orders will normally be despatched within three working days if all your books are in stock. Please allow up to 30 days for delivery in the UK and overseas if airmail service is selected (90 days for surface mail), in case books are temporarily out of stock or have to be ordered in for you (if you would like us to part deliver available books, please contact us. We will let you know any additional postal charges for this service).
If your order is very urgent, please contact us and we shall make every effort to meet your deadline.
Warsash Nautical Books, Mainmast Books and their associated businesses, the proprietor and owner expressly do not accept any liability in damages or otherwise in respect of the accuracy or reliability of any information shown on this website, in any catalogue or promotional material issued by us, in any book or publication supplied by us or for any information or advice given by us or our staff, or for the late or non-supply of any goods ordered, or for any faults or damage to items supplied by us, in excess of the cost of the item itself.
Payment is needed with every order except for payment by credit/debit card and for account holders in good standing. We accept payment by VISA, Mastercard, Diner's Club or American Express and Switch debit card (please include issue number when ordering).
UK customers may also pay by cheque supported by bank card up to the guaranteed limit, postal order, or Book Tokens. Overseas customers may also pay by Sterling or Euro Bank draft (please ask for our current exchange rate. Bank details for electronic fund transfers can be supplied on request. All payments must be net of all currency conversion, transfer and bank charges
All goods are sent at purchaser's own risk unless insurance is requested. No insurance is available for goods sent by "Printed Paper Reduced Rate".
All goods remain our property until payment in full has been received by us.If any book or other item purchased from us is found to be damaged, faulty or is not what you ordered, it may be returned to us for a full refund of the price paid and all postage costs paid provided you notify us within 7 days following receipt of the goods.
At our discretion we may agree to extend the notice period if it is reasonable in the circumstance, but claims for faults will not normally be entertained after one month
You must notify us in writing by letter, fax or email that you wish to return the goods and specify the reason.
You must not return the goods until we have contacted you and agreed with you how they are to be returned.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU then you have the statutory right under the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) 2000 and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Directive 97/7/EC to a 7 day-cooling off period during which time you may cancel your contract and return the goods for a full refund. The cooling off period begins as soon as the order has been made and ends seven working days after you receive the goods.
To exercise this right you must inform us before the end of the cooling-off period in writing that you wish to return the goods for a refund
You are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods and to return them to us undamaged.
You are liable to return them to us at your own cost unless they were also faulty or damaged on receipt (see above) in which case we shall pay such costs.
We may charge for the direct costs of recovering the goods if, on request, you do not return them; this will not be more than the direct costs of recovery, such as postage or, for larger items, the cost of a van collection.
We shall return all money paid within 30 days of you returning the goods.
The right to return the goods does not apply to:The cooling-off period does not apply to business or trade customers or any customers from outside the EU. At our sole discretion, we may agree to accept unwanted goods on return, but we reserve the right to make a restocking charge in addition to the cost of returning the books to us to cover any expenses in returning the goods to our suppliers or in otherwise disposing of them. Professional and business customers are particularly warned that some expensive and specialist publication that we supply, but do not normally stock, are not accepted for return by the publishers and we do not normally accept them for return ourselves without good cause.
Please ensure that the details you provide us with are correct and complete and inform us immediately of any changes to the information that you provided when registering or using the site. You can access and update much of the information you provided us on the website.
Warsash Nautical Books/Mainmast reserves the right to refuse access to the website, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders at our discretion. If we cancel an order, it will be without charge to you.
Warsash Nautical Books/Mainmast grants you a limited licence to access and make personal use of this website, but not to download (other than page caching) or modify it, or any portion of it, except with our express written consent. This licence does not include any resale or commercial use of this website or its contents; any collection and use of any product listings, descriptions, images or prices; any derivative use of this website or its contents; any downloading or copying of account information for the benefit of another merchant; or any use of data mining, robots, or similar data gathering and extraction tools.
